I have a new mmm on my BX2200. The deck doesn't sound as smooth as I expected from brand new. Also the belt seems to have quite a bit of slop in it on the back side where the long run is. Is this normal or does it need some adjustment. I haven't heard another one running, so I don't have anything to compare to. It really makes a nice cut though.

I got a 54" mmm on my BX1800 and it runs very quite, the belt is tight.I guess I have about 150 hrs on the BX1800.
Have you lubed the u-joints or the other grease zerks?I lube mind every time I cut grass with it. You could just have a defective belt or a weak spring on the tensioner. And your right they do cut good and fast. ....

I haven't double checked anything since getting it from the dealership. I do know they greased everything from the grease left on the zerks. I guess I need to get the manual out and make sure the belt has the right tension on it. It does seem to be a little smoother the more RPM you run. Maybe that's my problem. I just hate to run max when it cuts good for the speed I'm going. Thanks for the response.

I was told by my dealer to run at full throttle when using a MMM on a BX. I engage the PTO at about 1/3 throttle and then slowly bring it all the way up. The deck shakes a little when the PTO engages, but then it runs very smooth as soon as the engine recovers. There are 7 lube points on the 54" deck. The 60" deck on the 18 & 22 is a little different, so you might want to check, but it never hurts to add grease. A little noise from the geartrain and spindles is normal, but vibration is bad. If you have vibration, sharpen and balance the blades. ....

On my BX 1800 I cut grass at 2800-3000 rpms which is about 3/4 throttle.I engage the pto at idle just like I do on my big tractor. It is enough of a shock at idle. I don't want to engage it at higher rpm. ....

Thanks for the responses. I mowed with it yesterday and increased my throttle to maybe 3/4. It ran smoother than at lower RPM. At a lower RPM, the belt on its route accross the backside of the deck seems sloppy. Maybe at the lower RPM's it does this. I was concerned because I could see where it has been rubbing on the studs or guides along this section. It really does torq over when you kick the pto in.

You definitely have been mowing at to low of an RPM. The book says full throttle but anywheres from 3/4 up is normally fine. ....
